The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) is the largest youth soccer organization in the country. They are a national organization comprised of 50,000 teams and 650,000 players. AYSO is defined by five simple philosophies that Munay supports. The first two philosophies of “Positive Coaching” and “Good Sportsmanship” are also fundamentals of the Munay Soccer Academy. It is the next three philosophies where the organizations agree, but Munay has additional concepts.
Playing Time
- In AYSO soccer, each player is guaranteed a certain amount of playing time.
- In Munay, playing time is earned through a balance of ability and a demonstration of “integrity”, “teamwork”, “effort”, and “persistence.” We teach our players how to compete at their very best in the pursuit of a team victory within a team environment, making sure we develop their technique along the way. Some players inevitably play more minutes than others but we teach our players the value of every individual’s contribution.
Assigning Players
- In AYSO soccer, players are assigned to teams in order to maintain a balance of competition to encourage fairness and fun.
- In Munay, we compete against other clubs who are building competitive teams too. We strive to develop our players and the teams they play for, to reach their highest potential. We typically have girls and boys teams in each age group from U12 to U19.
Registration
- In AYSO soccer, all players from age 4 to 19 can register to play regardless of ability or experience.
- In Munay, we select players based on their ability to contribute to the team and who want to pursue a High School and College career.
As an organization we aspire to give local players an opportunity to progress in the sport of soccer at a competitive level. We also want to educate our players from a coaching, management and refereeing point of view. We employ an experienced team of professional trainers and coaches who support the development of all of our players and teams.
